Introduction:

“This is the true story of seven strangers picked to live in a house, work together, and have their lives taped, to find out what happens when people stop being polite and start getting real.”
--- Introduction to the show The Real World - the first reality television show - 1989

The Gen X Files is a 20-page booklet that gives an overview of Generation X, born between 1965-1979. Why are they labeled with a variable? What music did they like? What was technology like as they grew into adulthood? What have they accomplished in their lifetimes?

The Appendix lists the sources from which I derived most of the body copy (some of it was derived from personal experiences.) The articles link back to their sources, and the song title chapters link back to the artists' original YouTube videos.

Gen X may be sandwiched between the Boomers and the Millennials, but we are by far the coolest, most chill, and most imaginative generation around today. (I may be biased.)
