Gaea's Bossom
This is a non-commercial project that started with a simple pencil sketch that I drew after I dreamed about the concept.
Main goals were the practice of simulating fluids and improving skills of creating a highly detailed environment.
Software | 3ds Max | Corona Renderer 7 | PhoenixFD
ForestPack | Painter | Zbrush | SpeedTree | Photoshop
Thanks to | Mikhail Nikitin | Elizaveta Ivanova
for theoretical and moral support!
Year | 2021
The waterfall itself was simulated with PhoenixFD including mist, foam, and bubbles, I used 2 separate grids (for stream & lake), joined into the cascade, it was the most time-consuming part.
The environment is made with a single mesh, draft in 3ds, the first level of details in Zbrush, finalized and textured with UDIMs in Painter.
Ivy created in SpeedTree, other assets such as trees and rocks scattered with multiple Forest Pack objects
Thanks for watching!
