Penguin Book- Student Design Award (2021)

The Brief: Design a book cover for The Uninhabitable Earth by David Wallace-Wells. The cover must reflect the topic of the book in a new and exciting way

My Outcome: I was inspired by signage that is placed around building sites to indicate that it is an unsafe environment; this inspiration heavily influenced the outcome as I used similar colours, typography and iconography that would be found on these signs. I used a chipboard background to symbolise how we (the inhabitants of Earth) treat the natural resources around us.
