While working for The Royal Institution of Australia - Australia's Science Channel I was tasked with creating motion ID's to be shown between films at the screenings of the SCINEMA International Science Film Festival. 

After some development work, I decided to go with the theme of the four classical elements, with each bumper to feature a specific element of fire, water, earth and air. 

Various materials where gathered that represented these elements and shooting began. High contrast light, black backgrounds to aid compositing and a number of hours shooting later, I had the basic plates. Many layers of masking and compositing went in to achieve the result. The sound I designed was executed in a similar manner, using recorded sounds of various materials, processed and multi-tracked into the final sound.

These bumpers and TVC were reused for a number of years, after a change of the year.

The TVC was played on various channels including BBC First.
