2021 CALENDAR CONCEPT
Mythology contains the experience of the inner world of mankind and the attempt to convey it through imagery and legends. Learning that unique language will make it easier for us to understand ourselves and our position in the world, which is only possible through experiencing others and the act of comparison. This calendar presents 12 Japanese mythical creatures - deities and yōkai (demons, spirits and monsters) with Baltic motifs woven into it. The Japanese, just like the pagan Lithuanians, believed that the world was full of divine forces or spiritual beings who had the ability to embody any stone, tree, mountain, animal, or man-made object. Japanese mythology allows us to see the relationship between the world and man through the eyes of that region, its moral values and mentality, and thus to uncover the culture of this mysterious country. The 2021 calendar invites us to move into 2021 with a positive attitude and keen eyes, so that we can observe more and more new miracles of discovery behind every turn in these uncertain times.
