Technology and Infrastructure - NAWBO’s Areas

Elizabeth (Libby) Keatinge Scheideler has spent most of her career in communications as a reporter for various news agencies around the country. Elizabeth Keatinge is also an advocate for women’s issues and is a member of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), an organization that represents the interests of female entrepreneurs around the country.

NAWBO's advocacy agenda this year includes fortifying technology and infrastructure for women business owners. With the effects of the pandemic changing everything about the way humans live, work, and play, NAWBO recognizes the need to tackle the challenges that impede progress for women business owners by creating a sustainable business environment.

For many businesses, the move from a brick-and-mortar office to the online format required the infrastructure that would support adequate broadband access in both urban landscapes and rural regions. NAWBO is working toward facilitating legislation that would guarantee reliable access to broadband technology for business owners. Other structural improvements NAWBO is focusing on include providing stability to business owners in the area of fintech, regardless of the task they are performing, for example, online billing and accounting. Finally, this platform involves helping business owners establish an online presence.
